Hello there...

Post by rallyvolvo »

Hi, I'm Nick, based in Connecticut, USA. (2 hour drive northeast of New York City) Just recently found LFM thanks to a lucky web search for wire wheels to use on a 1/8 scale Morgan +8 produced by Wespe Models.

I've been building models since I was old enough to hold (and cut myself) with a hobby knife. So, a little over over 40 years now. I've been on the fringes of model railroading. I picked N Scale because I love tiny things, and I didn't consider that by the time I'd have the skills to do it right, I'd need glasses to see the tiny things. Also built my share of 1/35 scale WWII military, and 25th scale cars, and sci fi kits. Mostly Star Trek and Star Wars, but a few other lesser known franchises as well. I also collect and paint war gaming miniatures. Most of them are in the Games Workshop family of games.

In the real world I work on for a shop that specializes in servicing and rebuilding vintage race cars, as well as providing track support for said race cars. Most of the guys are down at an event in Sebring Florida as I write this. I've gotten to work on everything from 1930's Alfa's, '50s F1 cars, a host of random English and European sports, formula cars and sedans from the 50's through the 90's.

In addition to the Morgan, I'm working on a Pocher Alfa Monza. For anyone interested, I've detailed a lot of my work on my facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/nicksmodelbehaviour. There's an album specifically dedicated to the Monza build.

I look forward to learning and sharing with the group.

G'day Nick,

A big welcome to our small but slowly growing group. The forum is quite new, but as you've probably seen there is some great work here.

Knowing some of the projects you're working on I am sure they would also be of interest to the group, and I know I can speak for us all that we look forward to your updates.

Really keen to see the Morgan as you've mentioned a bit of work to go into modifying that.

More than happy to have the links to your Facebook build so share away.

Thanks for joining, and feel free to say g'day to anyone on the forums, are a very friendly group.

Colin
